What Colour Are You?

Via ambivalent imbroglio, there's nothing like a silly internet quiz when you should be doing something else that you don't even want to think about doing. And I have to say, I'm rather impressed by the result. Not sure about the written description, but the colour itself is remarkably close to the background colour for this blog:

you are cadetblue
#5F9EA0

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.

Your outlook on life can be bright or dark, depending on the situation. You are flexible and see things objectively.

Just as an aside: no matter how desperate I get for procrastination material, I categorically refuse to take the Which Wife of Henry VIII Are You? quiz. I am unwilling to entertain the possibility that I might have anything of significance in common with any of them.

How about Which Historical Lunatic Are You?

I am Ludwig II, the Swan King of Bavaria!

I was some crazy French king who thought he was a glass bottle at one point. I am also steel-blue-grey.

What's with all the blues?

Aha! Dark sea green.

And I'm Katherine Parr--bookworm with a secret swinging streak. Who knew?

I am Cadet Blue, same as you IA. How odd, though, as I was George Washington to your Hamilton. Hmm ....

And Miriam, yes indeed, WHO KNEW! :)

"I am Cadet Blue, same as you IA. How odd, though, as I was George Washington to your Hamilton. Hmm ...."

I think this is easily explained: the difference between my Hamilton and your Washington is the difference between Canadian and American. :)

Got my favorite color almost exactly, some shade of blue, maybe dark slate blue? (Can't remember now.) But it wasn't even close with my fiancee. Has anyone been matched with any reds?

Joy! Fun quizzes when I should be grading. Have I mentioned that grading brings out the cynic in me?

Off to do more -- Thanks, IA, for the day-brightener

you are mediumorchid
#BA55D3
Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.

Catherine of Aragon, apparently.

Interesting. I'm light turquoise, and that's one of the dominant colors of my own web page.

DeepPink which goes very nicely with my Tom Paine founding father quiz. Apparently I come on strong and people either love me or hate me and I can't be trusted to do administrative work.

Agitprop forever!

Aquamarine and Charles VI or Charles the Mad, here. John Adams, as I recall. Like IA, I don't do "wives."

Color: PaleTurquoise (I hate all shades of turquoise and aqua, have no idea how to interprete that).
Wife: Anne of Cleves. (Well, at least I didn't sleep with him or get my head cut off.)
Historical Lunatic: Charles IV (Since there are now three of us, I suspect you get Charles by answering 'no' to most of the questions about whether or not you bed your relations or were friends with Mark Twain)
Founding Father Alexander Hamilton.
Muppet Fozzy.

No question Anne of Cleves got off very lightly indeed. Catherine of Aragon, on the other hand, was a wronged woman. ADM, I urge you to speak with a good lawyer.

"Like IA, I don't do 'wives.'"
Now, that's open to more than one interpretation. :)

Another darkseagreen (and close to my favorite shade of green to boot):

Your dominant hue is green. You're logical and steadfast, focused on figuring life out and doing what makes sense. You value being trusted because you know you're taking the time to figure things out and everyone should just follow you.

Your saturation level is low - You stay out of stressful situations and advise others to do the same. You may not be the go-to person when something really needs done, but you know never to blow things out of proportion.

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.

*I* got Pope Stephen VI(I) on the Historical Lunatics quiz. I think you have to be up to answering "yes" for "Feeling papal?" I was Katherine Parr (not a shock, either) and I completely forget about the color thing, except that it was a shade of teal I'd be willing to wear. ;)

Had to stop taking the color quiz quarter of the way through. Too stupid. Sorry. Will now, however, with great eagerness, take Historical Lunatic quiz. Hope I get an A.

When Di was alive but behaving badly, I pointed out to people what a lovely long neck she had -- if Charles only had the guts Henry VIII had. But then in one terrible month we lost Princess Di, Mother Theresa,and President Mugabe, so I had to quit talking about that kind of thing.

/*----*/
you are mediumauqamarine #66CDAA
Your dominant hues are cyan and green. Although you definately strive to be logical you care about people and know there's a time and place for thinking emotionally. Your head rules most things but your heart rules others, and getting them to meet in the middle takes a lot of your energy some days.
/*----*/
Pretty accurate so far. . .
/*----*/
Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.
/*----*/
Even closer to correct now. . .

Your outlook on life is brighter than most people's. You like the idea of influencing things for the better and find hope in situations where others might give up. You're not exactly a bouncy sunshine but things in your world generally look up.

Had it up to this section. I'm regularly accused of pessimism and occasionally accused of curmudgeonliness:-P

Apparently I can also be accused of being Charles VI in a previous life (and who doesn't want the reputation 'the Mad'), as well as Katherine Howard (picked the naughtiest choice possible on each question, just for the heck of it; hmmm, maybe that's the right one after all...)
